The Conference Rethinking the Dynamics of Music and Nationalism will take place on 26-29 September.

The opening evening session (Tuesday evening, 26 November: 19:00–22:00) and is hosted by the Netherlands Royal Academy of Sciences. The evening will feature, among others things, the keynote lecture by Katharine Ellis, The Outer Edges of National-Classical Music: Territory, Society, Tradition, and the launch of John Neubauer’s posthumous book The Persistence of Voice. Venue: De Brakke Grond, Nes 45, Amsterdam.

The sessions of 27 - 29 September will take place in De Rode Hoed, Keizersgracht 102 between 09:00 and 18:00, and will feature, besides the panel presentations, plenary lectures by Graeme Skinner, Douglas Shadle, and Bob van der Linden.

On Wednesday evening 27 November, 20:00-22:00, Sara Crombach will give a piano recital in the Uilenburg Synagogue, Nieuwe Uilenburgerstraat 91.
